About the author
Shunmugavel has a deep passion for the Tamil language and possesses an attentive perspective that closely observes people and life. From a young age, he grew up reading the poems of Mahakavi Bharathiyar and the Thirukkural. Bharathiyar's thoughts and the profound wisdom of the Thirukkural have deeply shaped his thinking and his love for the Tamil language.
His natural tendency to closely observe life's experiences, human relationships, and emotions is reflected in his writing as well. His poems naturally weave together personal emotions such as love, passion, longing, and separation, along with reflections on honesty, self-respect, humanity, perseverance, life, and human relationships.
“Agamali Kelir” is his first collection of poems. His love for Tamil, his perspective on life, his understanding of human experiences, and his creative ability to transform emotions into words — these poems are born at the intersection of all these elements.
